Hi everyone,
I am about to book ferry online to cross Irish sea and there is a drop down list to choose different vehicle type.

I have Bongo Freetop so I am guessing it will be High Car (1.8 - 2.0mtrs) or Camper/motorhome

Does anyone know which one I should pick or does it matter?
There is about £50 difference in price.

Thanks

E

Not been on the Irish Ferries myself but Bongoplod should be able to answer your question. Up here in Scotland I have been on the Cal Mac Ferries to the Western Islands and at 5 Metres long a Bongo is carried for the same price as a car since there are no height restrictions.

Thanks for fast reply.
You are right it is with Irish Ferries, how do you know that!

I am thinking "car" or maybe "high car" as there is no difference to a normal 8 seater, it is only extra 20-30 cm higher for the popup roof.

Ive been to Ireland 3 times in the Bongo, booked via the camping and caravan club and got a good discount.
Cant remember  what company it was with, but i told the girl i booked with it was a Bongo,.she didnt know what that was (I assume it wasnt on her database) so i said it was an MPV, about the same size as a Kia Sedona.........never had a problem going on or off the ferry.

Just looked into the irish ferries and, I may have got this wrong but, it looked at being over £300!

That was for return too, may have inputted some data wrong as I cannot see it being that much from Holyhead to Dublin and then from Dublin back to Holyhead...or have I got it right?

From Rover to Bongo...both don't have a fuel warning light and suffer from HGF...home from home

Hi,

I have a friend who went with Irish Ferries, booked in as a MPV,CAR,4X4 at 2.25 meters high.

The cost for vehicle (Bongo) and 2 adults cost approx £350.

Cheers..
